Danger! Cruise Control and Wet Roads

Cruising along on a wet Georgia interstate with your speed set at a comfortable 55 mph? You may be in more danger of a serious accident than the driver that just passed you going 80 mph.

When a car tire hits a puddle of water or hydroplanes a driver typically eases up on the accelerator. Not so with cruise control. It will continue to accelerate and can force your car into a dangerous skid.car skidding on wet roads.jpg

For some reason the car manufacturers have never made much of an effort to get the word out to the driving public. Pass it along: never use cruise on wet roads.
